Liturgical Music Workshop
At the Service of the Sacred Liturgy:
An Intensive Liturgical Music Program
This program is designed to provide a focused presentation on the many aspects of liturgical music in a parish program over a four week workshop. It is for parish directors of liturgical music, choir directors, choir members, leaders of song and cantors. Liturgical musicians in non-parochial settings, priests and deacons are also welcome to participate.

Presenters

Father Dennis Gill, ordained a priest May 21, 1983 for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, currently serves as the Rector of the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul (and the Shrine of Saint Katharine Drexel) and the Director of the Office for Divine Worship. He is additionally the Parochial Administrator of Saint Agnes-Saint John Nepomucene Parish and Saint Andrew Lithuanian Parish, both in Philadelphia.
He served as parochial vicar at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Warminster, and at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Southampton. Father Gill completed his graduate studies in the Sacred Liturgy at the Catholic University of America in Washington DC and the Pontifical Liturgical Institute of Saint Anselmo in Rome. After graduate studies he served a five-year term as the Director of Liturgy at the Pontifical North American College in Vatican City State. He is presently an adjunct professor of Sacred Liturgy at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in Ambler, Pennsylvania, and the Institute for Liturgical Formation at Christendom College in Front Royal, Virginia. He lectures on the Sacred Liturgy throughout the country and has published books and articles on the Sacred Liturgy. His most recent book is Ars Celebrandi: Serving the Mystery of Christ in the Eucharist (Our Sunday Visitor, 2024)

Father Jordan Kelly, O.P., is a Dominican Friar of the Province of Saint Joseph. Father Jordan has spent many years in Catholic Education both in Administration and teaching, earned the Pontifical Degree in Sacred Theology at the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, DC; and the Master of Fine Arts in Sacred Music at Lindenwood University, St. Louis, MO. Father Jordan is a frequent retreat master, a speaker on Spirituality, Liturgy and the New Evangelization, and has worked extensively with the Cloistered Dominican Nuns and many communities of Apostolic Sisters.

Rev. David M. Friel, S.T.D. was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in May 2011 and presently serves as Director of Liturgy at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. He holds a doctorate in liturgical theology from The Catholic University of America and is Vice President of the Society for Catholic Liturgy.

Charlene Angelini is currently serving in her 10th year as the Director of Liturgical Music for the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and the Shrine of St. Katharine Drexel and the Director of Music for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. In this role, she conducts the Cathedral Basilica and Archdiocesan choirs, and oversees the Cantus Angelorum Cathedral Children’s Choir.
Charlene is a graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor of music in piano performance, vocal performance and piano pedagogy. A cantor since the age of 10, liturgical music has always been an integral part of Charlene’s spiritual and musical life. After graduating college, Ms. Angelini became the Director of Music at Our Lady Help of Christians Church and Nativity B.V.M. (Philadelphia, PA), where she served as organist and choir director for 11 years. In 2010, Charlene began cantoring at the Cathedral Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul, and moved into the role of Principal Cantor for all archdiocesan and televised events. Throughout her career, Charlene has taught for a variety of institutions including Desales University, Nazareth Academy, Waldron Mercy and Westminster Choir College.
